Article: City clerk in major swing state Wisconsin received training from a “Zuckbucks” group on “combating election misinformation”

The Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) funneled hundreds of millions of dollars from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to public election agencies in 2020, favoring left-leaning areas in key swing states and boosting Democrat turnout. The group launched the U.S. Alliance for Election Excellence in 2022 to coordinate with other leftist groups and “systematically influence every aspect of election administration in target offices,” as revealed in an Honest Elections Project report.

The office of Madison City Clerk Maribeth Witzel-Behl has a history of involvement with both CTCL and the Alliance. After participating in a CTCL training aimed at “combating” so-called “election misinformation,” Witzel-Behl continued to participate in the group’s “misinformation” programming in the months leading up to the 2024 election, emails obtained by The Federalist in a Freedom of Information Act request suggest. Meanwhile, Witzel-Behl’s office recently sent out more than 2,200 duplicate ballots to residents last month.

Witzel-Behl “previously participated in [the group’s] Combating Election Misinformation training,” according to a June 11 email from Andrea Abbate, a CTCL associate director and communications manager. Sophie Lehman, a CTCL associate director, also sent the clerk an email on July 10 promoting an upcoming webinar on “Combating Election Misinformation.”

Wisconsin – The Federalist – Article: WI City at Center Of ‘Zuckbucks’ Scandal Looks To Tap Leftist Lawfare Groups Ahead of Election

Article: Green Bay has earned a dubious election integrity reputation thanks to Democrat Mayor Eric Genrich and his election law-smashing city clerk.

The leftist-led Wisconsin city at the epicenter of the 2020 Zuckbucks” scandal is again looking to enlist the assistance of far left lawfare firms ahead of November’s election.

A deeply divided Green Bay City Council last week voted 7-4 to retain the services of outside legal counsel to assist the city attorney in the expected litigation surrounding Green Bay’s administration of the contentious election. There’s good reason to expect litigation.

Wisconsin’s third-largest city isn’t just the home to a world-class NFL franchise and award-winning cheeses. Green Bay has earned a dubious election integrity reputation thanks to highly partisan Democrat Mayor Eric Genrich and his election law-smashing city clerk. Now, Genrich and crew — accused of spying on their political enemies among other troubling allegations — appear to be doubling down on Green Bay’s soiled elections reputation with the move to hire left-wing law firms.

Wisconsin – The Federalist – Article: Leftists Get What They Paid For In Wisconsin Supreme Court Flip-Flop Allowing Ballot Drop Boxes

Article: WI Leftists get what they paid for in drop box ruling flip flop

They say you get what you pay for. Swing state Wisconsin is getting the erosion of election integrity laws, thanks to a mountain of leftist money that changed the makeup of the state’s Supreme Court.

On Friday, just as President Joe Biden was slated to make a campaign visit to capital city and leftist enclave Madison, the left-leaning Wisconsin Supreme Court reversed a previous court ruling and endorsed the widespread use of absentee ballot drop boxes in November’s election. The ruling opens the door to the same kind of election shenanigans that plagued the Badger State in 2020.

“Our decision today does not force or require that any municipal clerks use drop boxes. It merely acknowledges what [state statute] has always meant: that clerks may lawfully utilize secure drop boxes in an exercise of their statutorily-conferred discretion,” the 4-3 ruling states.

Wisconsin – The Federalist – Article: Left-Wing Nonprofit Interfering In Milwaukee’s 2024 Elections Got $750K From Soros Group

Article: Soros gave $750K to group interfering in Milwaukee elections

A Democrat-friendly dark money group bankrolling Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s 2024 elections previously received $750,000 from an organization founded by leftist billionaire George Soros.

Earlier this month, Urban Milwaukee revealed that the Democrat stronghold — in a county Joe Biden won by nearly 40 points in the 2020 election — was offered a $786,500 election grant from Cities Forward, a virtually unknown nonprofit organization that markets itself as a “nonpartisan effort focused on helping cities around the country make participation in the democratic process a priority.” According to Claire Woodall, the executive director of the Milwaukee Election Commission, the funds will be used to purchase new election equipment such as voting machines that print paper ballots and ballot tabulators, among other items.

The Milwaukee Election Commission and the Milwaukee Public Library also accepted a $250,000 grant from Cities Forward. Just the News reported that the grant will go towards a supposedly “non-partisan public education campaign … to increase civic connection among residents” that includes “Encourag[ing] ALL residents to register to vote, sign up to vote by mail, vote early, and update their state ID/driver’s licenses.”

Wisconsin – The Federalist – Article: Green Bay Clerk Breaks Election Law, Pleads Ignorance

Article: Controversial Wisconsin clerk admits to violating election law, claims she doesn’t understand it

Green Bay’s law-bending elections chief is at it again, but this time City Clerk Celestine Jeffreys admits she didn’t understand the election law she was breaking.

In response to a complaint filed by the Public Interest Legal Foundation on behalf of three Green Bay citizens, Jeffreys “concedes that she has not been strictly adhering to the statutory requirements in Wisconsin Statutes … but the failure to do so was inadvertent and due to a lack of awareness of the statutory requirements.”

In short, the much-troubled clerk was ignorant, not willful, according to the legal response. It’s more of the same from Jeffreys, the former chief of staff for Green Bay’s far-left mayor in a city that made national news during the Zuckerbucks scandal of 2020 and turned punitive when its bumbling clerk previously twisted state election law.

Wisconsin – WISPOLITICS.com – Article: Dane County Seeks Clarification of New Amendments

Note: the link(s) on this page may send you to another site’s page that may/may not still be present depending on age of the post.

Article: Dane County seeks clarity on definitions of ‘election official,’ ‘task’ to complying with constitutional amendments

Dane County’s corporation counsel has asked Dem AG Josh Kaul for guidance on what constitutes an “election official” and a “task” when trying to implement new constitutional amendments voters approved in April.

Carlos Pabellón also argued “election official” should be defined by a law that states it’s “any individual who is charged with any duties related to the conduct of an election.” Otherwise, there’s the possibility that local clerks, their employees and others could be barred from running elections this fall.

Pabellón’s request last week for an attorney general’s opinion comes after voters approved two amendments during the April election. One barred the use of private funds to cover the public costs to administer an election. The second one restricts who may perform tasks in primaries, elections and referendums to “an election official designated by law.”
